Our 2016-2017 Team
About Us:
We are Code Purple Robotics based in Kirkland Washington. Our students come from Lake Washington High School, and local magnet academies. Our club competes in the First Robotics Competition as Team 5827. You can find more information about the individual competitions in the FIRST Robotics page.
The club was started in 2011 as a VRC team. For three years, exceptional STEM students have gotten robots to the Worlds competition and numerous awards. For the 2015-2016 season, the team has decided to switch from the Vex to a greater challenge that has more opportunities to enhance STEM principles. FIRST was the answer.
Throughout the school year, club members build a robot to compete in the year’s FRC challenge. Starting in January, our team start in a six week build season, compete in local tournaments, and aim to qualify for the PNW District Championship and onto the World Championships.
Join Us:
Our club is always looking for new members to add to its roster. We are committed to promoting robotics and STEM concepts in our community, and are willing to take in any high-school age student in the Lake Washington area, as well as any mentors that understand these concepts.
During the preseason, before January 7, meetings will be held on Thursdays at 7:15 am. and Tuesdays at 2:45 pm. After kickoff, and due to the rigorous nature of robotics, our club operates akin to a sports team. Meetings are every weekday and Saturdays, throughout the year. New members are always welcome and will have the opportunity to experience the whole team and decide what they would like to specifically contribute.
